Los Angeles’ The Festival of Dead Deer flamed bright and hot, ultimately burning out as quickly as they appeared. Fortunately this document here came to light just after the band was pronounced D.O.A. This LP/ CD here consists of highlights from a live set on LA’s KXLU. The drummer of the Dead Deer, Chris Hathwell, later was a founding member of Moving Units and Ground Unicorn Horn. Guitarist, Mike Crain, later went onto start Kill The Capulets and Retox.

Quite a departure from the wild territories they ventured into with their major label releases. So far, the greatest thrash metal I've heard released in the 2020's. Plus, it's not everyday you hear Rhea Perlman on a metal record. t0cktock

Floor-to-ceiling Boris ragers! It’s like they looked back on songs like Statement and Woman On the Screen and said “let’s do a whole album like that!” Most of these tracks don’t even pass 3 minutes! Zerkalo holds up the middle with some anguished doom.
In the end, *NO* is as strong and declarative as it’s title. Brian Parker
Beautifully moody art rock from Virginia that recalls the dark glory of bands like Echo & the Bunnymen and Psychedelic Furs. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 18, 2020
